The West Clermont Board of Education recognizes the positive contribution which volunteers bring to our schools and welcome their participation. Volunteers are needed in a variety of capacities from assisting teachers in the classroom, clerical work in the offices, assisting at lunch, and helpers at arrival and dismissal.
We recognize that due to their schedules, some parents may only be able to help with field trips and special events that occur periodically and not on a regular schedule... and that is just fine! When parents are involved in their children's school everyone benefits.
In order to encourage a healthy and safe environment for the children and staff, West Clermont follows the regulations of the Ohio Revised Code which requires criminal background checks of all volunteers prior to their eligibility to assist with the school or athletic team.
All volunteers in the West Clermont School District are required to have a background check that includes a set of fingerprint impressions that are taken electronically in the District Offices, 4350 Aicholtz Road, Suite 220, Cincinnati, Ohio 45245. Fingerprinting is done Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and there is NO cost to volunteers.
The fingerprints are submitted electronically to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation which includes a Federal check. In most cases the results of the background check are received within 48 hours. Volunteers who are approved will be notified by the school. Volunteers who are not approved will be contacted by the Human Resource Department. The West Clermont Board of Education requires a clean background check for all volunteers.
