Glen Este Middle School offers several after school clubs for students to be involved in.  Below are the clubs we have for the 2009/10 school year.

Glen Este Middle School Student Council

Student Council is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students attending Glen Este Middle School. Students interested in being council members are expected to be conscientious students with a strong desire to work with their peers, faculty and administration toward the common goal of improving the learning culture of Glen Este Middle School. Campaigning begins September 14 and elections will be held September 29. Students will be notified about meetings via school announcements. Mrs. Alicia Walls and Ms. Emily Malone are advisors.

The purpose of GEMSSC is to:

  • Create an avenue for students to voice and deal with student concerns and issues;

  • Empower students with voice and responsibility in their school lives;

  • Include students in the processes, which influence their academic lives;

  • Give students practice in democracy and leadership;

  • Assist other citizens and groups in our community;

  • Assist in peer conflict resolution.

Jazz Band

Jazz Band is open to 7th and 8th grade students. Music of various styles is performed, including jazz, blues, rock and swing. Rehearsals start in October and are held once a week until 3:30 p.m. in the band room. Anyone interested in joining the jazz band should see Mr. Morgan, band director, regarding audition times.
