Parent Notes:

Kindergarten Registration: Merwin Kdg. registration is this week at the district office by appointment only.  For an appointment, call 943-5000. Please spread the word to anyone you know who has children who will enter Kindergarten next year.  You may pick up a registration packet at Merwin prior to your appointment.

Remember Lunchtime Visitors, we have very little extra space in the lunchroom this year so we have assigned the following days for you to join your children at the lunch table. Thank you for cooperating and for visiting your child!

Study Island contest grades 3-5:

March Contest:  The student who answers the most Math questions with the highest % of accuracy by midnight on March 31st will win two movie tickets to Pierce Point.

IMPORTANT: Anyone volunteering to work on school grounds for PTO or school events must have a background check at the WC District Office on Aicholtz Road. This is free of charge. Once completed, you will not need another check unless you leave the district and then return.

This week is an A week at Merwin.

Monday is the first day of Karate Club after school until 4:30.  There is also a PTO Skating Party at 6:30. 

Tuesday is Merwin night at City BBQ.

Wednesday is Family Sports Night for grades k, 1, and 2 starting at 6:30.  Then on Thursday night, it will be Family Sports Night for grades 3,4 and 5.

The Spring Book Fair starts on Friday  and continues through the following week.  Classes attending on Friday are:  Jacobs, Rees, Orleck, Love, Noble, and Cann (PM).

Please join me in congratulating the DI teams for their great showing at the competition last weekend.  We had two teams place 1stand two teams place 3rd.  We also won the Spirit of Discovery and Renaissance Awards.  Two of our teams are moving on to state competitions. 

Yearbooks are on sale for $17 and order forms have been sent home or are available in the office.

Two Merwin students were recognized by the Ohio Art Education Exhibition.  They are 4th grader Kelsey Niolet and 3rd grader Nathan Cooper.  Congrats!

I have received a notification  from Panera Bread asking our students to nominate their teacher for the Rising Above Award.  If you would like to have the entry information, please stop by the office.  I can’t think of one Merwin teacher who isn’t perfect for this award!  The deadline is March 31st.

Please continue to spread the word that Kindergarten registration is ongoing at the WC District office by appointment by calling 943-5000.  A registration form is available in the office at Merwin.
