Students at Merwin participate in the Scholastic© Reading Counts! Program.
For the past several years, Scholastic Reading Counts! (SRC!) has helped schools across the country improve reading through leveled, measurable reading practice and motivation.
Here's how it works.![]() |

|
1. Students select a book.
Each student can generate reading lists based on their own interests and
reading levels, with their teacher's help. |

2. At school students can quickly test their comprehension.
After they read a book, they take a computer-generated quiz and receive
instant feedback. |

3. Teachers track reading progress.
Instant, data-driven reports help inform instruction. |

Now you can help your child improve his/her reading comprehension by selecting books that meet their reading profile. Click on one of the pre-sorted lists on the left of this page and find books that fall within their target reading goal! Or, if you already have a book and want to know the reading level for that book you can look it up by Title.
Most of all, remember to encourage your student to read each and every day!
