West Clermont Families and Community Members,
Each school year brings renewed excitement and energy. It also brings new faces among our teachers and staff – people who we believe meet the high expectations that we have here in West Clermont. I am among the new faces you will see this year in West Clermont and I am thrilled to be here as your new superintendent.
As we plan for the future, it is important that we do so together. It is important that we also recognize where we are right now. As a school system, West Clermont has achieved a great deal over the last few years. In short order, the district made tough decisions and pulled itself out of a fiscal crisis and has remained lean and steady since. In the last year we opened the brand new West Clermont High School, a renovated West Clermont MIddle School, and we have begun construction on a new Summerside and WIllowville Elementary Schools. Academically, we have steadily improved over the years. We are seeing higher levels of achievement on tests and West Clermont is a District of Choice for families.
More families are choosing West Clermont because they value what we do, they trust us and we do a great job. This all comes back to each one of you and to the support of our community.
Building on this is the key to our future success. We are standing on the shoulders of giants and the best way to honor the work of the past is to challenge ourselves to collaborate and to be fearless about the future and what we can accomplish together.
To do that, it is important that I spend time listening and hearing about you, what you value in our schools and what success in our schools and our community looks like to you going forward. To start, I have included a link to a brief survey. The questions are open-ended and the answers are yours to write. Please take the time to send me your thoughts.
I look forward to meeting you in person once school starts. In the meantime, please enjoy and make the most of these remaining summer days.
Yours in West Clermont Pride,
