Go to the Beach and Read!

Students at Withamsville - Tobasco School participate in the Accelerated Reader Program.  This computer software program tests the students on books they read from the library.  We have over 3,800 book tests from which the students may choose.  The tests cover all levels of readers from emergent readers through advanced readers.  Each year the students have increased the number of total books per grade level per year.  We have 100% teacher participation.  Here at W.T. we love to read and take tests on the computer!

Students are placed on levels to achieve rewards. We have levels 1-6.

AR - Go to the Beach and Read - Wall of Fame  

Their picture can be viewed by  students and visitors when entering the building. They also receive a special beach prizes for their efforts.

Go to the Beach and READ -  Home and School Reading Program

Students receive shells for the different levels of points they earn.  They receive shells for daily homework reading. They also receive shells of all sizes  for AR points. 

May Picnic    

All students who is on the Go to the Beach and READ - Wall of Fame  (along with their relatives) gather together for an end of the year picnic.  The students receive a ribbon.  The top 5 readers of the school are recognized!  A fun day of hot dogs, chips and pop and recognition!
