Counseling
-
The Guidance Department has three
counselors. Students are assigned to a counselor according to
their small school selection. Counselors
meet with freshmen to help them cope with the transition to high
school. Also, counselors meet with upperclassmen to discuss
career explorations, decision-making skills, course selection, college
planning and financial aid and scholarship opportunities. |
Testing at Amelia High
School-
All students will be tested
at to measure their aptitude, achievement and
interests. (Testing
Dates)
Ohio Graduation Testing -
Sophomores
PSAT and Plan -
given to sophomores and juniors for preparation of
college entrance exams.
ACT and SAT -
dates and testing location are given to juniors and
seniors.
Advance Placement Testing-
provided for students who are taking
advance placement courses. |
Ohio Career Information System
-
is a computer-based program that
provides information to students regarding occupations, two and
four-year colleges, graduate school, proprietary and vocational
schools, sources of scholarship and financial aid, additional sources
of career information and answers to questions related to the world of
work. Contact a counselor for this information. |
Conference -
Counselors are available for conferences
with parents upon request.
