Extra Credit- Social Studies

2^nd Quarter                  

1. Pick up the National Geographic Magazine article.  (December 2001) I have only one original copy. This copy may not go home.  I have made several copies that may go home.  It is located on my gray file cabinet in my room.

2. Sign out the article.  You may keep the article 4 days. (Weekends included)

3. You will turn in a paper on the artcle.

What's in the Paper?

a. As you read make a list of at least 5 words you struggled with.  These should not be proper nouns.

b. Write the definition and the page # and Paragraph # where you found the word in the article. 

c. In depth explain 3 interesting things you found in the article that you did not know and 3 things you already knew about either in Social Studies Class, or from your religion, or other source, list the source of your knowledge.

d. On the cover it says Abraham Father of Three Faiths.  In one paragraph explain this title. 

e. Turn in the assignment and the article by January 12.  Assignment must be on notebook paper or typed and must be neat and with as few grammatical errors as possible.
