Field Trips

2007 - 08

Woodland Lakes:

On each child’s G/T Resource Room day on either September 24, 25, or 26, 2007, we took a field trip to Woodland Lakes Retreat Center in Clermont County between Amelia and Bethel.  We participated in the team challenge course, a low ropes course, which is a series of  challenges for the children to solve.  Each element required the group to plan, organize, and execute strategies in order to accomplish the objectives.  These tasks encouraged teamwork and support of each other and increased communication skills.  It was also an opportunity to learn how to work more effectively with new G/T classmates.

Challenging ... but fun!!!

National Inventors' Hall of Fame:

On Friday, October 19, 2007, all four G/T classes, teachers, and parent chaperones will travel to Akron to kick off our research theme, Intent to Invent.  More details to follow.

2006 - 2007:

Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County

On each child's G/T Resource Room day on either March 5, 6, or 7, 2007, we traveled to the downtown library to locate resources for our 'My Passion' research projects.  Students accessed the on-line catalog and located books and searched some of the databases to find newspaper and magazine articles on their topics.  We also viewed the 167 Thinking Green models entered into the Architecture by Children competition, ours included.
