The Clermont County Educational Services Center and S.A.N.G. sponsor a televised "Battle of the Brains" for fifth - twelfth graders that began in January  2007. 

We have three teams of fifth graders proudly representing five of our eight elementary schools for the 2007 - 08 school year.

Team # 1 from Clough Pike Elementary School coached by Mrs. K. Brock. 

Team # 2 from Merwin, Summerside, and Willowville Elementary Schools coached by Mr. R. Longbottom.

Team # 3 from Withamsville-Tobasco Elementary School coached by Mrs. S.

2007 - 08 Results:

Round # 1 on November 8, 2007

West Clermont's Clough Pike Elementary vs. Milford's McCormick Elementary with a final score of 13 to 12!  We were soooooooo close!

Round # 1 on November 19, 2007

West  Clermont's Merwin, Summerside, and Willowville Elementary Schools had another close match with Meadowview Elementary from Milford with a final score of 9 to  8.  Again, sooooooooooooo close!

Round # 1 November 28, 2007

Withamsville-Tobasco Elementary School fared well in round one against Seipelt Elementary School in Milford.  We won with a final score of 13 to 10!  

Round #2 on January 31, 2008

Withamsville-Tobasco Elementary School faced a tough battle in the semi-finals against Boyd E. Smith Elementary.  The teams were neck in neck throughout the match.  At the end, the score was 6 - 6.  Then, sudden death!  Unfortunately, the Bobcats lost 7 - 6 but played well!  We are proud of you!

Spring Battle of the Brains ...

Round #1 on Thursday, April 3 - W-T vs. Meadowview at 4:30 p.m.; The Bobcats won by default as the other team did not show up!

Thursday, April 10 - Merwin, Summerside, and Willowville Elementary Schools vs. Mulberry at 4:00 p.m.; Congratulations on your victory with a final score of 15 - 10!  Well done!

Thursday, April 24 - Clough Pike vs. Pattison at 4:30 p.m.; Congratulations on your victory with a final score of 17 - 8!  Great job, Cougars!

Semi-finals May 1, 2008 - Withamsville- Tobasco vs. Merwin/Summerside/Willowville, West Clermont vs. West Clermont!  It was a very close competition throughout the three rounds!  The Merwin/Summerside/Willowville team pulled ahead in the bonus round with a final score of 9 - 6.  Congratulations!

The Clough Pike team competed against McCormick Elementary on Thursday, May 8, 2008.  It was a tough competition with some very tough questions.  The Cougars were defeated 14 - 5. 

Mr. Longbottom's Merwin/Summerside/Willowville team competed against Seipelt Elementary in the semi-finals on Thursday, May 15, 2008.  Congratulations to these students on their 18-11 win!!  Then, to top that off, they immediately faced off against McCormick Elementary in the finals!  It was a tough battle!  Our team was victorious with a 12-10 win!  Great job!!!  On Thursday, May 22, 2008, this team competed against the winners of the fall league.  It was a very close match against Boyd E. Smith Elementary 10 - 9.
