MOVING AHEAD - AFTER PROM 2013:
One goal of the upcoming year is to get more parents and also the students
involved in the planning and other events leading up to the After-Prom. We
would like to hear about and incorporate things that the students would like
at After-Prom. We would also like to have their help at some of the
fundraising events. In order to get help, we have put together the following
information so that everyone can see what is involved and choose times or
activities that fit with their schedules and preferences.
Our next After Prom Committee meeting
will be held tba.
Volunteers will be needed for various
activities throughout the year:
Working concessions at Homecoming Dance
Selling raffle tickets at home sporting events
Selling items/tickets during lunch periods
Sending out donation letters
Organizing & volunteering at fundraiser events
Canvassing area business for donations
Assembling the gift baskets from items donated from the community
Working the night of After Prom – set-up, chaperone & tear-down
Sending out thank you postcards to our sponsors
If you would like to volunteer for any activity or be added to our After Prom
Distribution Group, please e-mail Pati at
After Prom History
The After-Prom party is an overnight "lock-in" event that takes place
following the Prom. After-Prom is open to ALL juniors and seniors, not just
those who attend the Prom.
The annual After-Prom party is sponsored by Glen Este High School's PSTO who
several years ago decided to follow the example of local high schools by
offering the After-Prom party as an alternative to student-organized parties,
often un-chaperoned, where drugs and alcohol may be present. The Glen Este
After-Prom has met the criteria of the Drug Free Coalition, Families and
Children First, SADD and other groups by providing a secure, chaperoned, drug
and alcohol-free environment for the event. The After-Prom committee starts
planning this event in July and works steadily throughout the year to make
sure the one night event is something the students will never forget.
The goal of the After-Prom committee is to make the After-Prom party a huge
event with lots of food, games, entertainment, raffle items, door prizes and
fun things to do that the students enjoy. The ticket price is all-inclusive.
