  Glen Este High School Junior/Senior Prom tickets may be purchased in the East Office, $45 per person.  See the GEHS Cashier, Mrs. Brentlinger.

Each Wednesday between April 8 and May 1, the Cashier's Office will be open until 7pm to accommodate those wanting to purchase Prom tickets.

*ALL fees must be paid-in-full to purchase tickets.
CASH ONLY for tickets purchased the week of Prom.

Guest Forms available in all Offices and on the Glen Este High School Web.  Guest forms must be completed & approved before purchasing tickets.

No tickets are available after May 1.

  GEHS AFTER-PROM 2013 is May 4, immediately following the Prom until 4am.  This GEHS PTSO sponsored event will be at:

  Cafe Poetica--Read Your Words! Sip coffee, nibble cookies, consume words in the GEHS Library:

  After Prom is sponsoring PIZZA-TO-GO TUESDAYS.  $1 slices of pizza every Tuesday, 2:15pm, in the Gymnasium Lobby.

  Student Council is hosting the Annual Seniors vs Juniors Powderpuff Football game April 18, 6:30pm, in Trojan Stadium.  Funds raised are for the Darfur Dream Team Sister Schools Project. All money will go to buying supplies for the Goz Amer Refugee Camp outside of Darfur.

  There is a mandatory Senior meeting May 3, 7:15am, in the GEHS PAC. All Seniors [except for Oaks students] must be in attendance.

Students can only purchase one ticket at a time.

All school rules apply before, during and after the Prom.
Any discipline prior to the Prom may/will result in the student being denied the right to attend the Prom.
**Student school fees must be paid in full in order for students to attend the Prom.
**Guests must be 20 years old or under, and have a current high school ID or drivers license to verify identification.
**Guest forms must be completed & approved before purchasing tickets.
**Students dressed inappropriately will not be allowed entrance to the Prom.

Tickets are $15 each. Tickets can be purchased in the West Office from Mrs. Brentlinger, School Cashier, or from Ms. Weaver, Campus Secretary. Activities will include laser tag, corn hole, inflatable area, fortune teller, massages, tattoos, tennis, go-go potty races, danceheads, photo booth, and of course some fun new activities. Food items will include pizza, walking tacos, Skyline coneys, white castle, cookies, doughnuts, sno-cones, homemade goodies and whatever else we can get donated!
All students who purchase a ticket will be checked in at After-Prom and are “locked-in” until the event is over.
If a student wants to leave early, a parent volunteer will call their parent for permission for the student to leave early.

  4th Quarter Interim Reports will be sent home with students May 6.

  Advanced Placement Exams are May 6 thru May 15. Test dates and room assignments are available in either the East Office, West Office or Guidance Office. Testing information is also available in the School Documents section of the Glen Este High School Web.

  Child Focus, Inc. is collaborating with local law enforcement to facilitate a training that educates parents/caregivers/teachers about the ways students are communicating electronically and the laws that impact them. The program is offered at no cost to participants.  This program is entitled, "What You Need to Know About Your Child’s Electronic Communication and the Law" and will be May 22, 5:30pm-7:30pm.  Use this link for more information.

**Make-Up Exams will be given May 24.

  No School May 24 for Staff Professional Development Activities.

  Graduation practice will be 8am, May 30, in the GEHS Gym. ALL Seniors must attend graduation practice in order to participate in the graduation ceremonies.

  Last Day of School for Underclassmen is June 6.

Guidance Announcements

  High School report cards will be available only by accessing the online grade reporting system, ProgressBookPaper copies of report cards will not be mailed to homes.  Parents who have not activated their Parent ProgressBook Account, should do so immediately.  Those needing assistance or without online access to ProgressBook should contact the school office by calling: 513.947.7600.  Thank you for your patience as we look for ways to reduce our paper consumption and find savings in our building budgets.

  Seniors who have not ordered cap and gown need to see Ms. Veronica in West Office.

  Attention Juniors--This spring is the time to sign up for the ACT or the SAT!  Go to www.actstudent.org for the ACT or www.collegeboard.com for the SAT.  See the guidance office for information on practice tests or for more information.

  Attention Seniors interested in a career in Dental Assisting--Anderson Academy of Dental Assisting is offering a 13 week program!  See your Counselor for details.

  ACT/SAT Prep Class is being offered Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:30pm to 4:30pm, on the Amelia High School Campus.  Cost is $175.  Class dates: May 14, 16, 21, 23, 28.  Visit: www.LEAProgram.com/registration to register and for more information.

  Seniors--UC Clermont College Spring Showcase
is March 28, 5:30pm-7:30pm.  Apply that evening and your $50 application fee is waived!  See your counselor for details.

  Careers in Media Summer Internship Program (~15 hrs/wk) for Minority Students who are high school Juniors, is at WCPO-TV.  Please see your guidance counselor for details! Deadline for registration is March 31.

  Attention Seniors--Get money for college!  Fill out the FAFSA (Free App for Federal Student Aid)

  Juniors with a 2.8 GPA or higher may qualify to attend the Today's Learners, Tomorrow's Leaders (TL2)--a highly selective, three week Summer program at the University of Cincinnati learning about jobs and businesses in the Cincinnati Area.  Cost is $480 and applicants earn 3 credit hours from UC.  See Mrs. Reckers in the Guidance Office if interested.

  A free, week-long Accounting Program at The Ohio State University For Minority students, is June 9 thru 14.

  Attention Juniors -- Attend a 3 week Summer program and earn college credit.  The Today’s Learners, Tomorrow’s Leaders program at the University of Cincinnati will teach you about local businesses and you can earn 3 credits in Economics.  See Mrs. Reckers for details!

  Paid Summer Internships for Seniors at Children’s Hospital Medical Center -- There is one part-time internship open to all Seniors as well as one full-time internship for Seniors who are of African American, Hispanic, Pacific Islander, or American Indian descent.

  View the Glen Este Campus Traffic Routes for student drop-off and pickup by clicking here.
High school students should be dropped off on the East Side of the Campus.  Students are permitted to ride bikes to school, should park bikes in the designated area and are encouraged to bring a lock, as the school is not responsible for lost or stolen property.  Bike riders must have parent permission on file in the office.

Athletic Information


Congratulations Boys Basketball
7 Glen Este High School Boys Basketball players received Gold or Silver academic certificates from the State of Ohio.  Glen Este Boys Basketball was also recognized (as a team) for the 4th straight year by the State Coaches Association for academic excellence.  Glen Este was one of only 2 schools from the Cincinnati area to make this list.

:: Attention Student Athletes ::
Completed Physical forms must be on file by the first official practice of the season.
Forms for Athletic Physicals can be found here.
Students without a physical will not be allowed to try-out for a sport.  For sports not requiring try-outs, a student cannot practice until a completed physical form is submitted.  Completed physical forms from chiropractors and walk-in clinics will be accepted.

  Transcript Requests
Print and complete the
Transcript Request Form.
The form must be submitted to the appropriate Guidance Counselor Office on the Glen Este High School Campus.

Glen Este High School cannot process transcript requests via e-mail, FAX or over the telephone.

School policy requires student signature as well as parent signature on the transcript request.

The
Glen Este High School Transcript Request Form is for current students only.

Alumni cannot use the Request Form.

The Eligibility list for Athletics will be posted each Monday afternoon outside the locker rooms, the AD's office, and outside of each small school office.  All athletes need to check the list.  If your student number is on the list, you will need to see your coach for details.

  Key Club is conducting a used book drive.  Donated books will go to libraries, shelters, and retirement homes.  Each Monday and Friday, during 5th bell class, Key Club members will visit classrooms before they go to lunch to collect donated books.  Students may also drop books off in Room 422, in the East Building.  Books may be dropped off at the beginning of the day, during Lunch, or after school.  Key Club members hope to have community and school-wide participation in an effort to encourage literacy in the area.

  KEY Club is sponsoring "Cookies for the Cure" Fundraiser.
Homemade cookies, brownies, and cupcakes will be sold--
Cookies 3 for a dollar, Brownies/Cupcakes 2 for a dollar.
All proceeds go to the Cincinnati Cancer Community Support Group.
Items are for sale 7:45am to 8:10am each day in the East Cafeteria.

After Prom has a bake sale for the students EVERY Friday (or the last day of the week when we are off on Friday) in the Gym Lobby and West Cafeteria Lobby from 6:45 to 7:15 am.  Items for sale include breakfast foods, such as bagels and donuts, as well as home-baked items such as cookies, brownies, Rice Crispy treats.  Coffee and hot chocolate will also be available.  If you would like to donate an item (home-baked or store bought) or volunteer to work the bake sale, please e-mail: geafterprom@westcler.org

has meetings every Tuesday, after school until 3:30pm, in Mr. Ammerman’s Room (West Building).

Key Club meets every Wednesday, 2:15pm to 2:30pm, in Room 442.
Key Club has a volunteer initiative named "Bright, Shining Service", every other Monday, that focuses on doing small cleaning projects throughout the school to brighten up the building.  This includes, but is not limited to, cleaning the student desks in classrooms, beautifying the grounds outside the school, taking down old signage in the hallways, organizing bookshelves or cabinets for teachers, etc.
