The Land of Grant Honor Band is named in honor of President Ulysses S. Grant, who was born and raised in the small village of Point Pleasant, located along the Ohio River in Clermont County.

The Land of Grant Festival Weekend consists of two ensembles: a middle school band, which is open to student in seventh and eighth grade, and a high school band, open to students in ninth through twelfth grades. The L.O.G. territory consists of all middle and high schools, public and private, from  Adams, Brown, Clermont, and Highland Counties.

The two ensembles are conducted by accomplished guest conductors from area Universities. Previous conductors hailed from The Ohio State University, Miami University, Ohio University, Eastern Kentucky University, and The University of Kentucky.

The 2009 Land of Grant Honor Bands will rehearse and perform at the Glen Este High School Performing Arts Center, located in suburban Union Township near the village of Glen Este, more commonly known as "Eastgate."
