GEMS Fundraiser Night   

On Wednesday night, 5/9/12, there will be a GEMS fundraiser at Buffalo Wings & Rings at Eastgate Mall from 5-8 PM.  GEMS will receive a portion of the evening’s proceeds.


Skating Party 

Students can attend an All-School Skating Party Thursday night, 5/10/12, at Beechmont Rollerena from 6:30-8:30 PM.  Tickets will be sold at the door for $3.00.


GEMS Walk-a-Thon

The GEMS Walk-A-Thon will be held on May 25.  This Thursday and Friday students will attend the kick-off assembly for the Walk-A-Thon.  Proceeds will be used for classroom instructional materials.


GEMS Track

GEMS track athletes have been having a very successful season.  Congratulations to Austin Snyder, who broke the records for shot and disc with throws of 45'7" and 129', respectively, Ashley Mues, who broke her own school record with a pole vault of 8' and Jacob Hamilton for setting a new school record with a pole vault of 11'7".


GEMS BFS 

Glen Este Middle School BFS meets every Tuesday and Thursday after school until 4:00 PM in the multi-purpose room, for 6th and 7th grade students interested in playing football in the fall.

Freshman 101 Powerpoint

School Fees

School fees are past due at this time. Tickets for skating parties and dances will not be sold to students if outstanding fees exist. Please call the school to make arrangements to pay.


Financial Literacy & College Readiness

There will be a series of free informational sessions to address financial literacy and college readiness for 7th and 8th grade families in the Queen City Rooms of the Union Township Civic Center.  Sessions run from 7-8:00pm on the following dates: May 22.

An informational flyer came home with your 7th and 8th graders soon.  You can also download the flyer here.  Families will contact Plan the Way Foundation to register.


Spirit Wear

Spirit wear orders can be placed at localcolorapparel.com.  Samples are on display in the middle school lobby.


STUDENT SAFETY at DISMISSAL!!!!

Please be aware that all students who walk home (via the front entrance/exit to Glen Este Withamsville Rd.) will be held at the sidewalk and yard area between the GEMS gym and 7th grade corridor until after all buses have exited from the pond area.  Additionally, all 7th and 8th grade car riders are to be picked up in the pond circle.  No GEMS students will be permitted to be picked up in the parking lot by the GEMS gym.

Student safety must take priority during morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal.  Please exercise caution driving on the campus.


Traffic Flow

Drop-off for ALL middle school students is behind the middle school, exiting campus via Judy Lane.  Please do not stop at the corner of the GEMS gymnasium to let your students out.

Pick-up for ALL 6th grade students will be either behind the middle school or off Judy Lane. 7th and 8th grade students should be picked up in the pond circle.  Students should remain on the sidewalk area underneath the awning, on the south side of the pond circle.  If you have multiple grades to pick up please have the students report to the pond circle for pick-up.
