Dear Brantner Families,
Our week began with our third round of specials back in action at Brantner with our students enjoying opportunities to continue to expand their understanding of their strengths in art, music, media, and physical education. Our specials team is dedicated to enriching our students’ lives by exposing them to ideas, opportunities, tools, strategies, and talents that span our classrooms and their lives outside of school too. While we wish they were with us all of the time as they truly make a difference in our students’ lives, we are grateful they are with us for the eight days we get them each rotation.
You can ask your children about their work with technology in media class with Mrs. Kenney to connect to our world through Schoology and other amazing learning tools. Last time Mrs. Kenney was here, she taught our primary students how to make any picture talk with an app called, Chatterpix, which they can use in our classrooms to practice fluency in reading, describe how to solve a math problem, explain the scientific method, etc.
In music class, Mr. Crandall worked with the fourth grade on, “soda pop,” rhythms the last time he was with us and this round he is having our kindergartners step to the beat.
You can see evidence in our halls of the incredible work our students do in art with a focus on the history and elements of art. You can ask your child which of the eight elements of art they are working on this week with Ms. Green as they share their creative talents as artists!
The workout in Mrs. Strauss’ Physical Education class is impressive as is the building of good sportsmanship, skill, and ways to have healthy fun together. Break out a simple, light scarf at home and watch what your child can do to show their skills in tossing, catching, tagging, and even juggling!
Thank you, specials team, for being an important part of Brantner’s family!
