Intervention
Hi! I am a certified school psychologist hired to fill the role of intervention psychologist at WT. I am at WT 2.5 days per week. Typically, school psychologists are thought of as the people who evaluate children in order to determine if they are eligible for special education services. Although I am certified to provide this service (and have provided it in the past), my current role in West Clermont is to focus on preventing disability evaluations through remediation work with children. This means that I organize screening activities for reading and math problems and organize the results of these screenings for use by teaching teams. Through collaboration with teachers and other building staff, I support development and implementation of automatic intervention systems. I also coordinate individual child intervention teams and consult with parents about activities that could be tried at home to help students do better while at school. I love what I do! Nothing makes me happier than knowing that I participated in a team effort to build a child's success. I am honored to work with the Children, Parents, and Teachers of West Clermont. Are you a parent who would like ideas on how to help your child at home? Please don't hesitate to phone me. I would love to partner with you to help you help your child.
