Dear Brantner Families,

All students, K- 5, began their week by adding a half hour to their day focused on specific skills that they need to strengthen in language arts during their MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems and Supports) group time. You can ask your child who they are working with and what they are doing to continue to grow as fluent readers. We encourage all students to take time to read nightly and all parents to encourage this healthy habit by engaging in the reading with them. Even a simple conversation, “Tell me about what you just read?!” can build connections and strengthen comprehension. Modeling being a reader is a powerful approach as well, even if it is a quick magazine article.

Speaking of magazines… our students came together for an exciting kick off to the PTO Fall Fundraiser on Friday afternoon.  All of our students should have come home with a packet filled with information to support their efforts to help raise money for our PTO events this year. Fall Fundraiser Flyer.pdf  Something new this year, all orders will be delivered directly to your home or to the address of the person ordering from you.  This means you will not need to arrange a pick up of goods or prizes or to deliver to those kind enough to order from your child. Simply connect, encourage, sell and the company will do the rest! Your child's prizes will even come directly to your doorstep!

As you can see on our Brantner Activity Calendar, 2018 - 19.pdf, there are many events that our PTO supports, including the upcoming trip to Camp Kern for our fifth graders, the October Lock In, and our annual Fall Festival.  There are also many events and ways the PTO supports our students and staff that are not noted but are much appreciated and require funds. Examples from last year include our incredible new sound system for events, the GAGA Pit, books for our libraries, cultural events like the Mad Cap Puppets last year, etc..  

Please support your child with this fundraiser by encouraging them to reach out to family and friends in person, on the phone, and even via email/online ordering.  The catalog is filled with great gifts and affordable options, all delivered by the week of 11/12/18. Throughout next week, if your child sells one - four items, there is a coupon on the flyer above that allows for them to pick up a cute Coup from the office.  Just ask your Brantner Cardinal about these cute birds :)


Fifth Graders are going to Camp Kern!

We are excited our fifth graders have an opportunity to attend Camp Kern again this year, with the support our incredible PTO!  Campers will depart on October 8, 2018 and return on October 10, 2018. Parent drop off and pick up will be at Brantner Elementary school; we would like to have the students at Brantner by 8:45 am on October 8, 2018 and picked up at 1:00 pm on October 10, 2018.

The cost is $50.00 per child. Payment was due by Friday, September 28 but we will accept payments on Monday as well. We encourage all students to attend and if you need assistance with a PTO scholarship, please reach out to Lisa Courtney, 513-943-6400, Courtney_l@westcler.org.

If your child is going to need to take medications while attending camp, a medication authorization form needs to be completed and signed by a physician and all medication must be dropped off by Wednesday, October 3.  

If you have any food allergy concerns please feel free to contact Camp Kern’s Director, Dave Moran, at this phone number 513-932-3756. All food will be provided at the camp.

It’s not too late to come!  West Clermont Education Foundation Fun Run

The West Clermont Education Foundation’s 4th Annual Fun Run is set for Saturday, September 29th.  The event is for all students in West Clermont in Grades K-8. It will be held at West Clermont High School.  Back again this year, there will medals for top 10 runners in each heat and a trophy for the school with the most runners. The event starts at 9:00 am after the inaugural West Clermont Education Foundation Race to the Future 5K Run/Walk.  Registration is $10 on the day of the race.


West Clermont Education Foundation Race to the Future 5K

The inaugural West Clermont Education Foundation Race to the Future 5K will be a cross-country type run/walk that will take place entirely on the West Clermont High School campus. The race will be held on Saturday, September 29, and it will begin with a mass start at 8:00 AM. WC Connects Parent Education Series

 In partnership with local community partners, the West Clermont School District is launching the West Clermont Connects Parent Education Series. These monthly sessions will focus on different topics ranging from: Mental Health, Teen Substance Abuse, Physical Wellness/Nutrition, Technology Safety, and Teen Driving. Our next session called, “Hidden in Plain Sight - Drug/Alcohol Abuse Prevention” will be held on Thursday October 18th during Parent/Teacher Conferences at West Clermont High School.  There will be two sessions: 4:30pm-5:30pm and 6:00pm-7:00pm. All sessions will be held in Community Room A. The sessions are free and the entire community is welcome to attend.  Click here to get a full schedule of sessions being offered.


Wolfpack Pantry

Did you know that the West Clermont School District has a food pantry for our families that cope with food insecurity? The WolfPack Pantry is a team effort between the local non-profit group Cincy Kids 4 Kids, the Freestore Foodbank, the West Clermont School District, and our amazing community! 

The Wolfpack Pantry is located inside of West Clermont Middle School and is open twice a month from 5:30pm - 6:30pm. In an emergency, contact the Wolfpack Pantry at cincykids4kids@zoomtown.com.

What items are available at the Wolfpack Pantry?

Canned goods, frozen meat and foods, occasional fresh produce, breakfast foods, feminine items, personal care items, detergents, toilet paper and more. (All items are based on availability from the Freestore Foodbank and donations from our community.

How can I help the Wolfpack Pantry?

You can check out the Cincy Kids 4 Kids Facebook page for the latest information. We are ALWAYS in need of the following items:

  • kid friendly cereal
  • pop tarts
  • toilet paper
  • small dish detergent (dollar store size)
  • razors
  • feminine products
  • shampoo and conditioners
  • microwavable meals
  • tuna cracker packs

There are also collection buckets at both West Clermont Middle School (7th/8th grade office) and West Clermont High School (main office).
