West Clermont Local School District is proud to announce that two staff members have been
selected for prestigious honors from the Clermont County Educational Service Center.
Jennifer Hickey, a fifth-grade teacher at Willowville Elementary, has been named the district’s Excellence in
Education Award recipient. Rena Ford, a gifted intervention specialist at West Clermont Middle School, has been
selected for the Excellence in Educational Support Award.
Hickey has spent more than 30 years in education and is known for creating engaging, hands-on learning
experiences that help students connect classroom concepts to the real world. Her leadership and commitment
to students have made a meaningful impact both in her classroom and across the district.
Ford, who has dedicated 34 years to West Clermont, is recognized for her ability to both support and challenge
students through inquiry-based learning. She is passionate about helping students think critically, explore new
ideas and grow both academically and personally.
“These recognitions reflect the incredible work happening across our district every day,” said Superintendent Dr.
David Fultz. “Jennifer and Rena are outstanding examples of educators who go above and beyond to inspire
students, support their colleagues and make a lasting difference in our schools.”
Both educators exemplify the district’s commitment to excellence and have made a meaningful impact on the
West Clermont community.
Award recipients will be honored at the Clermont County Educational Service Center’s Celebration of Excellence
in Education event in April.
